Services...

As your family's personal birth doula my services include but are not limited to:

  • Prenatal support
  • Creating a birth plan, newborn care plan, and postpartum plan
  • Childbirth preperation classes
  • Perineal massage to help prepare the vagina for birth and minimize the burning sensation that may occur during due to stretching
  • Labor and birth support
  • Labor comfort massage, acupressure, counter pressure, positioning (with and without birth ball) and usage of hot and cold compresses.
  • Pain management and relaxation techniques before, during and after labor
  • Birthing anturally
  • Infant and child CPR and Heimlich maneuver lessons
  • Postpartum support
  • Breastfeeding techniques

 
 
Prenatal Visits

A prenatal visit is when I visit the home and

  • Go over any questions and concerns
  • Bring informative tools to teach and go over what happens to a woman's and baby's body both physically and chemically during labor
  • Educate the family on pain management techniques in order to possibly achieve a natural childbirth (if so desired) and inform the family on interventions (ie: pain meds, labor enhancing meds, etc) that may be used, along with their side effects.
  • Teach perineal massage to help prepare the vagina for birth and minimize the burning sensation that may occur during due to stretching.
  • Aid in creating a birth plan, newborn care plan, and postpartum plan.
           
    * If more than one prenatal visit is needed that is not a problem.
Labor Assistance

Labor assistance is when I come to the home and

  • Aid mom and family during labor via pain management techniques such as relaxation, acupressure, counter pressure, massage, positioning, and the usage of hot and cold compresses.
  • When appropriate (during active labor), accompaning the family to the hospital where I continue with pain management and emotional support.
  • Help initiate breastfeeding after birth.

Postpartum Visit

A pospartum visit is when

  • I go over any concerns about the labor and the baby.
  • Teach breastfeeding techniques as well as techniques on how to sooth the baby.
  • Go over ways on how to minimize discomfort and pain mom may be experiencing after childbirth.
